Destination - Grado

The lagoon island of Grado, which is located on a coastal dune at the furthest point of the Gulf of Venice, is also known as the Golden Island and the Sunshine Island. The town welcomes visitors with open arms to sample its unique nature, history and culture, Venetian atmosphere, and beautiful surroundings.  Not only does Grado feature a lagoon created by a maze-like arrangement of islands, but also a beautiful, clean, and smooth beach, making it a perfect resort for families.

You can relax on Grado’s fine golden beach, take a dip in the blue waters of the sea, or have fun in the thermal water park. Enjoy breathtaking sunrises and sunsets on walks through the beautiful countryside between the sea and the lagoon.  Grado lagoon resembles a landscape from a bygone age, featuring unspoilt nature and a host of cultural treasures.

There are countless opportunities to enjoy a day trip to the surrounding nature reserves and the city of Aquileia, which is a UNESCO World Heritage Site with a fascinating history dating back to Roman times. Visitors can also admire magnificent architecture in Trieste, which is full of traces left by a variety of ancient cultures.

Venice is a city of diversity and although it is primarily known for its gondolas and canals, there is much more to this beautiful city. Enjoy panoramic views across the city from the top of the Campanile di San Marco, visit the wonderfully ornate Doge's Palace, shop until you drop in one of the many designer boutiques or watch the world go by in one of the many cafes and restaurants located on St. Mark's Square.
